Cleveland State Volleyball Loses To Chattanooga State On Sophomore Night Thursday, March 11, 2021 Madeline Dasher Cleveland State Volleyball suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chattanooga State on their Sophomore Night Thursday evening. Sophomores Madeline Dasher and Loryn Wilson recorded the two highest kill totals on the team with 6 and 5, respectively. Sophomore Rileigh Barbour posted five serve aces, while sophomore Sydney Allen tied Wilson for the team lead in assists with 11. “It is disappointing to lose on Sophomore Night but I’m glad to have these girls on my team this year,” said head coach Alizabeth Atnip. “They have made an impact on our program in so many ways. We have a couple tough away games left and then the TCCAA Tournament. I am hoping they show up like I know they can.” ....
Cleveland State Volleyball Falls To Talented Walters State Wednesday, March 10, 2021 Loryn Wilson The Cleveland State Volleyball team fell 3-1 in a matchup with nationally-ranked region foe Walters State on Tuesday evening. “The name of the game was defense,” said head coach Alizabeth Atnip. “Our girls battled like they haven’t all season. We came together and put up a fight against a tough Walters State team. We were a well-rounded team tonight and I’m proud of our Cougars.” Claire Beasley led the team with 6 kills. Cleveland State Volleyball Falls To Roane State Wednesday, February 17, 2021 Cleveland State s Sydney Allen At a match in Harriman, Tn. on Monday, Cleveland State volleyball fell 3-1 to the Roane State Lady Raiders on Wednesday evening. In the first set, the Lady Cougars suffered a 25-20 defeat. Sydney Allen was able to record three kills in the set. The second set, Cleveland State was unable to contain the Roane State offensive attack and fell 25-17. Loryn Wilson caught fire in the second set offensively for the Lady Cougars, while recording four kills in the frame. The third set, Cleveland State stormed back to put pressure on the Lady Raiders, winning 25-23. After Roane State was able to build a 15-12 lead, the Lady Cougars mounted a comeback to tie the set at 18-18 after Grace Wiggins recorded a key block. ....
