Marvin R. Bader, 87, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 5:12 pm Saturday, May 1, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua, surrounded by loving family members.
Marvin was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Falconer, N.Y., the only child of the late Roy W. and Ella Anderson Bader.
He was a veteran of the U.S Army serving from June 24, 1953 to May 31,1955, during and after the Korean War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a 1951 graduate of Falconer Central School and earned his associates degree from Jamestown Community College in 1957, where he met his future wife, Caroline T. Hornsten. After they married, they moved to the Washington, D.C., area, where Marv earned his bachelor’s degree in history from George Washington University in 1961. He and Caroline made the Washington, D.C., area their home for 43 years where they raised their family.
