JOHN, B.C. – Thanks to a great idea from a Lake View Credit Union staff member, a blanket drive saw almost $4,000 and nearly 500 blankets donated to the SPCA. Responding to the story earlier this year about 119 dogs surrendered to the South Peace SPCA, Lake View Credit Union Foundation started a blanket drive. For every blanket donated, LVCU Foundation donated $8. Each location received around a $4,000 donation from the campaign. The credit union also upped their initial matching donation of $10,000 to $12,500 once they realized the original amount was on route to be surpassed. In previous years, the company had a Christmas Stocking Raffle with proceeds going to local charities. They switched up the campaign this year due to COVID-19 and moved the initiative online. “We have so much gratitude to those throughout the community that donated and made the most of our matching donation commitment.
