KJ Morris’ reunion with her father wasn’t quite what she expected.
When Nye Health Services announced in January it would close Legacy Lodge, its assisted living center in Rafter J, Morris was one of the first to find a new placement. Within a couple of weeks she had arranged a room at The Homestead, a facility in Rexburg, Idaho.
Morris’ father, Dave Schipper, had lived at Legacy Lodge since August, and because of the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns and restrictions she hadn’t been able to visit. When she was allowed into the building to help Schipper move, she said, “it was the first time I touched my dad since August.” ....
