Meet Pippin! This super chill amazingly sweet old boy is looking for a nice quiet home to spend his golden years! Pippin is a ten-year-old Corgi mix. At 26 pounds, he isn't too small or too big! He loves to run around outside in his yard and is very selective with his canine companions. He does have one dog friend here that he plays with. At the Sanctuary every dog gets yard time in the morning and everyone goes out in shifts. Pippen is very smart and waits for a yard to empty and then runs into it the minute his yard gate is opened instead of going back to his kennel! Most of the time staff lets him have his extra time because he is such a good dog! Pippen needs an adult household as he isn't comfortable with children. He would make a great companion dog to sit and watch tv with, take on walks through the neighborhood, and may even enjoy the occasional short ride to Starbucks for a Pup-o-chino! If you think Pippen sounds like the perfect chill pup for you, come meet him duri ....

Meet Nova! This absolutely beautiful girl wandered onto the Sanctuary's property and the staff was convinced that someone had to be missing their baby! Nova was given their last available kennel and staff got to work posting her picture in hopes of finding her owner that day! Sadly no one inquired about her or answered the posts. Nova is a very smart 3-year-old Husky mix. She is fantastic with people but selective with other dogs. She is a dominant personality and would need a submissive canine companion or would be a great only dog. Nova is an escape artist and makes quick work of learning how to open the gates and kennels at the Sanctuary! Her preferred adopter would be familiar with the Husky breed and have a very secure fence. She isn't a good first dog for someone. We haven't introduced her to a child, but she has shown no signs that she can't go home with children. Nova is not a dog to have in an apartment, she needs a yard to run in as well as additional dail ....

Meet Rufus! This big boy looks like the happiest dog in the shelter, but his start to life wasn't a good one. He was literally pushed out of his owner's car with his leash and toy as he watched her speed off leaving him alone and scared! Happily the staff at the sanctuary took hm in. They have been working on teaching him not to jump and to walk properly on a leash. He does love to be in the car and is an excellent car rider! Rufus is a very large Mastiff mix that is over 100 pounds. He is unaware of his huge size and jumps with the excited energy of a playful puppy! The perfect family for Rufus would be someone who is experienced with large energetic dogs and is willing to put in the time to train him! Rufus is not a good fit for someone that has never owned a large dog. Rufus will need his owner to live in a house with a strong fence and large yard. He has lots of energy and loves to run! No apartments or RVs for this guy! Due to his massive size and energy, Rufus cannot go ....
