Tom Wolf reported Friday that Pennsylvania ranked 13th in the nation in first doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered; 32.4% of Pennsylvanians had received at least one dose; 1.92 million Pennsylvanians were fully vaccinated; more than 5.4 million vaccines had been administered; and more than 1.6 million seniors had received at least one dose.
In the battle to defeat COVID-19, we are making real progress via vaccination.
The nation had, by Thursday, âadministered 20 million shots in seven days,â President Joe Biden said Friday.

8 On Your Side is responding to questions about seniors getting vaccines.Pennsylvanians who are 65 and older are eligible under the state’s distribution plan.However, getting a vaccine can be difficult for people who don t have a computer or smartphone and aren t online.Lon Wible, the executive director of the Lancaster County Department of Aging, said other means of scheduling vaccinations will need to be created, but primary physicians are a good point of contact for now. “There s probably no one answer to this issue. I think we re going to have to be relying on neighbors and families and churches, as well as our agency and others who are in the community, to help those individuals,” Wible said.People with questions about the vaccination process can call the Pennsylvania Department of Health hotline at 1-877-724-3258.There is also an online vaccination guide on the state’s website. ....
