The Congress accused Home Minister Amit Shah of repeatedly refusing to address the Lok Sabha security breach, leading to frequent adjournments. Jairam Ramesh highlighted the demand for Shah s statement, calling it a straightforward and legitimate request given the severity of the incidents. He emphasized Shah s duty and responsibility in addressing the issue, attributing the adjournments to his reluctance. Prime Minister Modi, in an interview, acknowledged the breach s seriousness and emphasized collective efforts to resolve it.
The fresh round of suspension comes after 13 Opposition MPs faced the action last week for demanding a statement by the Home Minister. Apart from this, three more MPs were suspended pending a report from the Privileges Committee.
Lalit Jha, the fifth suspect and mastermind in the Parliament security breach case, destroyed mobile phones belonging to himself and his friend Mahesh after escaping to Kuchaman in Rajasthan, according to police sources. Earlier, all four suspects had given their phones to Jha to prevent crucial investigation details from reaching the police, foreseeing their imminent arrest.
