The NCC plans a licensed bistro for Patterson Creek Park, which is not zoned for restaurants and is too narrow to permit âoutdoor commercial patiosâ unless partially screened to a height of two metres (not an option beside the heritage-designated Patterson Creek Pavilion).
The NCC got a lot right introducing taverns and bistros at Rideau Falls, Majorâs Hill Park, Remic Rapids and Confederation Park. Surely the major landholder in Ottawa can find a different location for its next bistro that would respect municipal zoning and wouldnât compete with so many local restaurants during COVID times. ....
