Officials said that two suspects are in custody after an armed robbery and short standoff.
The Mayes County Sheriff s office said that officers responded to a shots fired call at a home in Rose, Oklahoma that they said was an armed robbery. They said the suspects, a man and a woman, then barricaded themselves in a convenience store in Delaware County.
The Delaware County Undersheriff James Beck said after a standoff at the convenience store for an hour and half, the man left his hiding spot in the bathroom and surrendered to the Cherokee Nation Special Operations Team.
LOCUST GROVE â In the spot where Officer Chase Maddox proposed to his wife, Alex, now stands a marker honoring his life and memorializing his five years spent as a member of the Locust Grove Police Department.
The brown sign with white letters âHonoring Our Heroâ was unveiled Tuesday with family, friends and officials from the Henry County, the city of Locust Grove and LGPD, in attendance.
The sign stands across the street from Grace Baptist Church on Tanger Boulevard where Chase Maddox arranged for his wife to be pulled over by a fellow officer years ago. It was there he asked her to be his wife. In the churchâs parking lot Alex called family to announce their engagement. The whole event was captured on Chase Maddoxâs body cam video. Itâs something Alex Maddox said sheâll always treasure.
