The NortH2 project will decarbonise industry by producing green hydrogen as a replacement for the fossil energy the industry is currently using – thus contributing to the Paris Agreement to combat climate change.

Royal HaskoningDHV has been awarded a contract for environmental consultancy services for NortH2, a large offshore wind-to-hydrogen project being developed by a consortium comprising Shell, Gasunie, Equinor, and RWE, and supported by Groningen Seaports and Province of Groningen.

NortH2 aims to produce green hydrogen using electricity from about 1 GW of offshore wind off the coast of the Netherlands by 2027, 4 GW by 2030, and 10+ GW by 2040.
