INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana’s unemployment rate stands at 4% for May, a slight increase from 3.9% in April, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD). The national rate for the same time period was reported at 5.8%.
The Hoosier labor force had a net increase of 6,370 over the previous month, a result of 3,292 more unemployed residents and an increase of 3,078 employed residents.
Indiana’s total labor force for May, including employed residents and those seeking employment, is 3.34 million. The state’s 63.2% labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.6%.
