BROCKTON A family-owned clothing business that recently closed its Roslindale store and had to lay off more two dozen workers is receiving help to survive the pandemic.
L&M Bargain, located in the Points West Plaza at 21 Torrey St. in Brockton, is one of the latest of more than 100 businesses to receive financial support through the Barstool Fund.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who began the fund with $500,000 of his own money, has raised more than $22 million through more than 173,000 donations to support small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Sunday, L&M Bargain co-owner Stuart Salzberg became one of the latest business owners to receive a call from Portnoy pledging help from the Barstool Fund.
