| 04 May, 2021 M&S has appointed Andrew Shaw as Head of Beers, Wines and Spirits. Shaw has a strong background in wine retail, which includes previous roles as the buying manager for Waitrose and his most recent position as buying director for Bibendum. Shaw joins M&S alongside a number of appointments to the M&S senior commercial team and will be reporting into Lizzy Massey, Ambient Trading Director who joined M&S in January from Asda. Shaw will head up the BWS category, working with Massey to strengthen M&S Food’s transformation plan to protect the magic of M&S whilst transforming the rest and become more relevant, more often to customers. He joins as the category launches its second major range in 12 months, ‘Found’; a 12-strong range comprising unexpected and undiscovered wines from around the world. From Argentina to Romania all priced between £7- £10, encouraging customers to venture off the beaten track. ....
30th April 2021 Asda is continuing its recent management shakeup, this time strengthening its commercial team with two external appointments. Sam Dickson recently joined the supermarket group as VP of Own Brand. She previously spent 11 years at Waitrose, where her most recent role was Director of Trading and Merchandising Operations. Dickson replaces Paul Gillow who has moved to a new, enlarged role as VP of Commercial Transformation & Strategy. Meanwhile, Asda has hired Sonal Dash as VP of Non-Edible and Healthcare. She joined from Sky, where she had been Group Corporate Development Director. Prior to that, she led Strategy and Planning at Tate & Lyle. She has replaced Lizzy Massey, who left Asda last November. ....

Dickson joins from Waitrose, where she spent 11 years in senior commercial roles, most recently as director of trading and merchandising operations. Dickson joins following Paul Gillow’s move at Asda to a new role as VP of commercial transformation and strategy. Asda has also announced the appointment of Sonal Dash as VP of non-edible and healthcare. Dash moves from Sky, where she served as group corporate development director. Previously Dash led the strategy and M&A team at Tate & Lyle and was an associate partner at Bain & Company. She replaces Lizzy Massey, who left Asda in November. ....
