When the time came to schedule an appointment to receive his COVID-19 vaccine, Chris Downing didn t hesitate. Within a minute of receiving the email, he signed up. Downing, 54, a health and physical education teacher at Groveport Madison High School who is also the varsity softball coach, said it s important to do all he can to keep his students and players safe. So he knew he was taking one for the team. The process Tuesday was quick and painless, Downing said. He was still bracing for the poke when he realized the pharmacist was already applying a bandage and sending him on his way.
