MPNnow A job skills program for women. Groups for teen girls focused on staying in safe and healthy relationships. Youth leadership workshops. These are among programs that will receive support this year from the Ontario/Yates Fund for Women and Girls, or ONYA. A private nonprofit in its 21st year, ONYA raises funds and then grants to programs in Ontario and Yates counties that fit its mission: Promoting personal and economic growth for women and girls. Coming up June 5 is ONYA’s annual Bud to Bloom fundraiser luncheon under the tent at Canandaigua Country Club. Take-out lunch and livestream of the event will be available due to limited seating for COVID-19 precautions. Guest speakers will include two of ONYA’s grant recipients, The Living Well Mission and Family Hope Center. Catholic schools around the Diocese of Rochester are celebrating Catholic Schools Week Jan. 31-Feb. 6 with a variety of special activities. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the activities have been altered with safety precautions in place.
