University of Kentucky Art Museum is proud to announce the first examination of the various collaborations that poet and critic John Yau has created with a range of visual artists during the past five decades. “Disguise the Limit: John Yau’s Collaborations,” running Jan. 9 to June 1, 2024, includes paintings, mixed media works on paper, print portfolios, artist books and ephemera. A reception celebrating this new exhibition and others will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10.

‘Interesting timing’: Ray Hughes’ Chinese art lands amid political storm Save Share The late Sydney art dealer Ray Hughes was ahead of a cultural curve, introducing Australians to contemporary Chinese art in the late 1990s. Among those who discovered contemporary Chinese art at Hughes’ Surry Hills studio was no less than Judith Nielson, whose interest was piqued to such an extent that she would go on to establish the now celebrated White Rabbit gallery in Chippendale.
