Five Hills royalty work as pizzaiolos at Domino s | Copperas Cove Herald

FORT HOOD — Little Miss Five Hills Braelyn Liles has never chosen anything but cheese — and only cheese — on her pizza. Yet, Braelyn, 5, grabbed a handful of bacon and plopped it in the middle of her pizza and topped it off with a handful of spinach. She got out of her comfort zone as she and Miss Five Hills titleholders became pizzaiolos at Domino’s on Fort Hood. “Braelyn is such a picky eater and watching her pile on all kinds of ingredients was shocking to me. Much to my surprise, she actually ate it and enjoyed it,” said Christy Liles, Braelyn’s mother. “She absolutely loved every second of it and you could tell she felt so grown up doing it. Thanks to Domino’s for this because she rarely eats meat and now maybe she will be more open to meat options and trying new things.”

Elderly and community benefit from bingo game at Rabbit Fest

The game of bingo was unveiled at a carnival in 1929. The setting was not much different on Saturday when the Copperas Cove Five Hills royalty introduced bingo at the annual Rabbit Fest to benefit research to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in senior citizens. Young Miss Five Hills Emily Kimball hosted the games of bingo in honor of Grandma Tru who has suffered with Alzheimer’s disease for more than five years and no longer recognizes her teenage granddaughter. “We raised money and awareness for Alzheimer’s and dementia research to help fight a disease that not only affects my family, but many others too,” Kimball said. “Absolutely, I did want to raise money for my chosen cause. But this is also about providing a service to our community and supporting the Rabbit Fest.”
