Carl Robert Whitcomb, 80, of Wareham, passed away on Feb. 3, 2021 after a 12-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was the son of the late Robert M. and Barbara T. Whitcomb.
Survivors include his wife of Betsey of 58 years; his loving children, Robert and his wife Van of Worcester, and Stephen and his wife Jeanne of Hanson. He was the proud grandfather to his five grandchildren: William, Daniel, Benjamin, Emma and Anne. He leaves a niece, Betsy Finch, of Glen, NH and a nephew, Warren Morse, of Wareham. His sister, Nancy, died in 2017, and his niece, Melinda Baxter, died in 2005.

Benjamin Ben Suddard, longtime local oyster farmer, has died from injuries suffered in a Christmas Eve kiteboarding accident off Little Harbor Beach.
Driven by the wind into rocks at the beach, Suddard suffered severe injuries and was airlifted from Tobey Hospital to a trauma center. He died on Jan. 6.
Suddard was born in Wareham and attended Wareham Public Schools before enrolling at Tabor Academy. Suddard was a lifelong sports enthusiast, spending time sailing, cycling, skiing, kiteboarding, and flying a 1946 airplane.
Suddard worked as a teacher for 17 years before owning and operating B and B Fish, an oyster growing and harvesting company.
