Maruti Suzuki India plans to export electric vehicles (EVs) from India this year after launching them in the country. The company also expects to export lithium-ion battery cells and modules worth around Rs 750 crore this fiscal. The company plans to export EVs to countries like Europe and Japan. Maruti Suzuki procures the cells and models from the joint venture AEPPL, which has a lithium-ion battery plant in Gujarat.
Maruti Suzuki EV Exports: On the export of battery cells and modules, Bharti said, "We are exporting it to advanced countries like in Europe. We will be touching almost INR 750 crore of lithium-ion advanced chemistry cells, battery packs and module exports this financial year."
TDK will set up a manufacturing facility in the northern state of Haryana, creating around 1,000 new jobs, minister of state for information technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Electric Vehicles: According to the report, strong production linked incentive schemes for ACC batteries, auto & electric components etc will drive reduction in import dependency by encouraging domestic production.
