Baltimore County is launching a spring restaurant week in an effort to help an industry that has suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic.Lisa Troia Martin, owner of Cafe Troia in Towson, lobbied with help from other restaurateurs for a spring restaurant week. It s been hard, it s been really hard. This is a tough industry normally, and the pandemic made it made it exponentially harder, Troia Martin said.Now that more people are being vaccinated, Troia Martin said she hopes more people will come out and support local businesses in Baltimore County. Restaurants are still struggling, and this is the shot in the arm that we need financially to stay alive, for the business to stay alive so that we can continue to operate, Troia Martin said.Typically done during a time when it s slower, like August and January, Baltimore County Restaurant Week was canceled both times in the past year due to COVID-19.To help now, the county is promoting the event and waiving entry fees.
