(ABC 6 News) - Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 proved to be a record-breaking year for deceased donation. 
In the U.S., more than 33,000 people received a lifesaving transplant from a deceased donor – an all-time high, according to the United Network for Organ Sharing. It is a trend also being seen across the Upper Midwest and at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. 
The increase in donation is made all the more remarkable when considering individuals who die of COVID-19 are ineligible to be donors. This rise in donation comes as Mayo Clinic recently unveiled a Wall of Heroes to honor those who give the gift of life. The wall recognizes blood, organ, eye, tissue and anatomical donations.  ....
