Crews are keeping a close eye on an Apartment Building where a twoalarm fire broke out this evening. Were taking a live look at the scene right now. Firefighters responded to that fire at a threestory building on addison street near sacramento around 7 30. The building houses 27 apartment units. The fire was burning on the third floor. You can see some of the damage right there in the middle. Officials say one person suffered a critical burn. Turning now to the latest on the white house. Have faith in the trees. Reporter senior martha diero was moving back into her dorms sunday morning when she heard about the tree accident. Despite her faith in trees this isnt the first one to come down. During the winter one of the other trees, the newer tree fell outside that building. I think the wind blew it over. Reporter her father is a bit more nervous for her and the other students. This is an old college. Obviously these trees were planted the same time this college was founded, so those are pretty concerning to me with the drought we had in california and with the wind they have up here, with the rain. Its a real concern especial especially with these big sequoias over here. Menlo College Officials decline to comment, but parents hope the college will trim back the remaining trees on campus. Court documents reveal that mims has a string of burglary charges. He was arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon just nine days before french was killed. He was arrested on the 7th, and he was released just four days later. It makes you question the judicial system when you have a convicted felon in possession of a firearm thats released on his own recognizance and commits such a heinous crime just five days later. According to the District Attorneys Office this is not the first time a neighbor has pulled a gun on his next door neighbor. This time, however, it ended up with one man dead and another behind bars. I heard at least one maybe two gunshots.
