That is being perpetrated and propagated by the russian security services themselves. let me interrupt to say the entire intelligence community says it was russia. right, but it could also be ukraine. i m not saying that i know one way or the other, i m saying that ms. hill is entitled to her opinion but no rebuttal evidence was allowed to be offered. philippe, we saw the senator from louisiana walk that back a little bit in the days that a little bit. not all the way there, but you have some insight into this. you ve been in the lions den or foxhole, whatever you want to call it. how do they proceed with this? again, there is as linette was saying, what happens inside the hearing room, there s what happens outside of it and republicans have shown a mastery of controlling that. i m going to take an issue with that. i agree with linette. they are incredibly disciplined and they simplify things which makes it easy for their hoards which makes it easy to mimic and to parrot. the ....
Box? here s the situation right now. china s economy is sloewed downa lot. their stock market s done really terribly this year. our stock market s done really well. in other words, what i m saying is these tariffs, a trade war would crush china. china can t live with a trade war with the united states right now. their whole economy is dependent on selling stuff to the united states so we have a lot of leverage here. but you have to think about how the chinese economy works which is that it s completely control bid t controlled by the government and if they want to put their foot on the gas, they can do it. what does that mean? it s hard to look into a crystal ball. if they want to turn on the spigots, ease credit, make money easier to flow through the economy, backstop job losses, i mean, they can do whatever they want. all right. well, it s tough to know for sure. i think we re going to win on trade. i appreciate it, linette, steven, both of you making your forecasts. ....
Too far away. if we have a trade war, i hope we do not, we all hope we do not, the effects of that may not really take effect for another couple, three months. it takes a little while for that to work its way through the economy in the form of higher prices and fewer products bought. it takes a little while. all right, so, linette, what do you think? business owners are actually already talking about this at all levels. they expect that trade war to start hitting them and for us to start seeing it in the data in the coming quarters. now, you know, how quickly does that impact jobs in sectors that are directly affected? how does it impact how farmers are going to deal with this? that is kind of a different story. but i mean, we re talking about two different things. one is consumer pricing, which takes longer, and the other is actually business decisions and what s going to happen to employment, which i think we ll see a little bit faster and i think that will impact. but you know ....
The u.s. economy is roaring. the latest numbers show it grew at 4.1% in the spring, that s the biggest growth spurt since 2014. combine that with a near 18-year low in unemployment, factory orders on the rise and a surge in exports, and that gave president trump a chance to pat himself on the back. we ve turned it all around. once again, we are the economic envy of the entire world. we ve accomplished an economic turn around of historic proportions. all right, some economists say that bump may be temporary as farmers rush to ship products before new trade tariffs from china kick in. i want to bring in stephen moore, a cnn senior economics analyst and a former trump economics adviser and lynette lopez, a senior finance correspondent. lynette, how much credit should ....
Canadians who in fact, we have the g7. we invited canada to the g7 when it was the g5. that was our doing. we created that entire group and now trump is destroying something that we, the united states, specifically created to control the global economy and we will lose control. and mentioned adding russia. which by the way has no business being a g anything. their economy is tiny. and also this g group is supposed to be for countries that share our values, our democracies. yes. there you go. linette and catherine, thank you for that. how about condos on the beach in north korea. this is all part of president trump s pitch to kim jong un in this surreal video that he showed. we have it. and a public defender in one texas border town said more than 500 children have been separated from their undocumented parents. ....
