The Edwardsville Administrative and Community Service committee on Thursday voted 2-1 in favor of the permit, with Alderman Jack Burns dissenting. Erin Long and Joseph Mays, who live in Godfrey, would like to turn a home at 223 N. Kansas St., Edwardsville, into a place for short-term rentals, with guests staying between two and 90 days at a time. The homeowners would not be onsite during guests’ visits and they anticipate as many as seven people would occupy their house at any given time.
