During the incident, the Police Officer discharged his Service Weapon at the suspect. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle southbound towards 1st avenue east. The suspect vehicle struck an unmarked Cedar Rapids Police Department Sport Utility Vehicle that was responding to coe road ne. The suspect then struck an unoccupied vehicle in a coe College Parking lot off of coe road and 1st avenue. It was at this location that the suspect was taken into custody by other responding officers.
