CEDAW is an ineffective and inappropriate instrument for advancing women's rights. It has accomplished little to improve women's rights in some of the most oppressive nations that have ratifiedit, such as Saudi Arabia. American women's freedom and personaldignity is best protected by the U.S. Constitution and the rule oflaw it establishes.
