UTB to earn Shs 12bn from Pearl of Africa Expo

Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) will earn at least a Shs 12.2 billion return on investment from the Pearl of Africa Expo (POATE), which begins on April 27.
Speaking ahead of the expo, which expected to run between April 27 and April 29, Lily Ajarova, the UTB chief executive officer, said POATE 2021 will provide participants, especially suppliers of tourism-related services and products, with an opportunity to close and sign business deals through on-spot travel bookings that are estimated to have a return on investment of Shs12.2 billion.
The expo, which seeks to lift the tourism subsector out of the current Covid-19 related disruptions, will focus on rebuilding and rebooting tourism, one of the hardest-hit economic sectors. ....
