Tributes paid to Burnham-On-Sea's oldest resident as she dies at age 111

Margaret Sara Reed has passed away peacefully at Priory Court care home in Burnham-On-Sea.
Home Manager at Priory Court, Vicki Clist, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Margaret was a much loved resident and a truly remarkable lady, very independent and an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed by all the staff team and residents.”
Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Cllr Mike Facey added: “What a wonderful age to have lived to! Margaret was a remarkable person and my thoughts go to all those who knew her and Margaret’s family at this time.”
She was officially listed as the seventh oldest person in Britain and the oldest Irish person residing in the United Kingdom. ....

Burnham's oldest resident celebrates 111th birthday and reveals secret of long life

Burnham-On-Sea’s oldest resident has celebrated her 111th birthday this week and revealed her secret to a long life.
Margaret Sarah Reed celebrated with family and friends at Priory Court care home in Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday (April 20th).
Sarah – as she is known to friends – was born in Northern Ireland and moved to Priory Court around six years ago where she is a popular, active resident.
She celebrated her birthday with a slice of special birthday cake on Tuesday, after opening her card from The Queen.
Care Manager Liji Koshy Joshua told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Sarah is such an amazing, happy person. We are really blessed to have her with us at Priory Court where she is much loved.” ....

The team at Priory Court Care & Nursing Home in Burnham-On-Sea have been celebrating this week during their annual staff awards ceremony this week.
The Country Court Staff Awards recognised the hard work of the Burnham team plus Summer Lane Care & Nursing Home in Weston-Super-Mare, Stanton Court Care & Nursing Home in Stanton Drew and The Laurels Care Home in Draycott near Cheddar.
This year the Awards went ahead virtually; with nominations made online, and the judges then reviewed the entries and picked the winners with the Directors broadcasting from their own ‘Santa’s Grotto’. ....
