Updated: 6:16 PM EDT April 4, 2021 NEW HAVEN, Conn. National Public Health Week for the City of New Haven will kick off Monday. Each day will consist of a different event aimed at educating the public about the importance of better health. Since 1995, the American Public Health Association has worked with health professionals and lawmakers in spreading awareness to make sure the community is more mindful of their bodies, mentally and physically. On Monday, the health department will participate in the Fourth Annual Connecticut Public Health Association Step Challenge. Teams are led by a captain and will start logging steps through April 30th. The teams will track their progress using Fitbits, phones, pedometers, or step converters. ....

While other trees had to have roots that were deep, all the roots of this tree were horizontal. they didn t go deep and down. they just went out. they grew just below the surface. the tree had always had easy access to life giving water. it had provided wonderful times, lots of memories for several generations and people in that neighborhood thought it could never come down. but online in the end, the owners realized that everything came too easily for the tree. so when the winds came, it was easily uprooted. the tree to weather some storms, a lot storms but not big storms. that s all i have. ....
Roots and everything. the tree fell down. it didn t snap in half. it was laying on the ground. only then did they realize that this cottonwood was one of weakest trees in the entire neighborhood. you see the tree grew in such a way, if you know anything about cottonwoods. they usually are by a river. and this particular tree by a river but it also was in low lying, a watershed. there was a lot of water there. the family loved this tree. so it was watered all the time. the family who lives in the home kept the tree watered. they loved the tree. the river barely ever got that low so it was a perfect place for a tree because the access to the water was so easy. that is what killed the tree. ....
