George floyd. A Minneapolis Police officer pressed his knee into the unarmed African American mans neck for more than seven minutes monday as floyd pleaded for help and said he couldnt breathe. Frustation over the lack of charges against the officers turned into anger overnight, as protesters looted stores and set buildings on fire. Police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets. Hose riots continued today, spilling into st. Paul, where crowds ransacked shops and smashed windows. Late today, the state capital was evacuated. And it all comes as minnesota and the rest of the country are facing th dual toll of rising jobless claims and cases of coronavirus.
