LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A car became stuck and residents evacuated homes by rescue boats Monday as melted snow and ice, compounded with days of heavy rain, caused the Kentucky river to swell and cover Old Richmond Road in Lexington.
A Lexington resident who frequents Old Richmond Road said it was too dark Monday morning to see water on the road since there are no street lights. After his sedan stalled in about two feet of river water, Chris Duff had a moment of luck. ....

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington Fire Department Maj. Mark Samuelson praised staff at the Richmond Place Senior Living Community for their quick action after a fire broke out Tuesday at the facility.
Samuelson said an off-duty Clark County firefighter was one of the first to notice the flames at about noon and assisted in evacuating residents.
Staff at Richmond Place were able to move residents to another building on the property while fire crews worked to put out the flames.
Samuelson said a couple of people were being checked out for smoke inhalation, but that no major injuries were reported. ....
