story throughout the day on news 4 at 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00. now to our other top story this morning. an oil spill on the anacostia river. crews have been working since early this morning to clean up the mess that stretches nearly three miles. the oil was first spotted around 6:00 last night. it has since spread to new york avenue bridge all the way down to the 11th street bridge. news 4 s melissa mollet has the latest from northeast on what crews are doing to clean up that slick. reporter: still lots of questions. a coast guard crew expected back out on the river today, trying to track down the source of the spill. in some areas, the iridescent film on the water, easy to spot. bright orange booms ferried out monday night, stretched across the river tuesday morning to trap the oily substance, also grabbing trash and wood. they need to find out what s going on, get to the source of it, but they re doing a good thing by putting that up there. reporter: leroy turner ....
