In his reelection bid for sheriff, Republican incumbent Eddie Hawkins has outspent his opponent by a rate of more than 5-to-1 and still has $15,160 on hand through the Nov. 7 election.
The sheriff’s race continues to be the big-money race in Lowndes County, with incumbent Republican Eddie Hawkins raising $13,298 over the reporting period, compared to $3,500 raised by his opponent, Democrat Willie Jones.
The race for sheriff continues to be active, if not one-sided, as far fundraising goes, with incumbent Republican Eddie Hawkins handily outraising Democratic challenger Willie Jones.
In Lowndes County the sheriff’s race continues to be the one to watch when it comes to money being spent, with comparatively small amounts raised in other races.
