Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja has dismissed a fresh suit challenging the decision of the Court of Appeal which affirmed human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, as the substantive National Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC). An expelled member of the AAC, Nzenwa filed an action to challenge the matter which had been decided and put to rest by the appellate court. The illegal and frivolous action was to truncate the ambition of Sowore as the presidential candidate of the AAC.
Seven of the parties have repeatedly claimed they were working on uniting into a large platform that will constitute the third force of Nigerian politics and present a viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The AAC in a statement on Thursday, obtained by SaharaReporters, stated this, adding that Buhari's government was as usual unsettled by the ongoing mobilisations for Sowore.
