Another businesswoman stepped forward and claimed she too was tortured in a secret detention facility inside a Cebu City police station, the third women to accuse the cops.
It was Police Major Alejandro Batobalonos, chief of the Integrity Monitoring and Enhancement Group Visayas Field Unit (IMEG-VFU), who told Rappler last Monday, April 5, about the two complainants.
Leo Villarino, chief investigator of the Commission on Human Rights Central Visayas (CHR-7) told Rappler on the phone Friday, April 9, that the third complainant said she was illegally arrested while she was tending her stall near the Carbon Public Market. ....

The secret room in Pasil Police Station 6, where two Cebuana victims were allegedly tortured, has disappeared, Commission on Human Rights Central Visayas (CHR-7) chief investigator Leo Villarino said on Tuesday, April 6.
The CHR-7 s investigation team conducted a surprise inspection of Pasil Police Station 6 (Sawang Calero Police Station) on Tuesday morning.
CHR-7 regional director Arvin Ordon had told Rappler on Monday, April 5, that they would be sending a team of investigators to inspect the police station and confirm the existence of a secret detention facility. ....

Leo Villarino, chief investigator of CHR Region 7, inspected the alleged secret jail of the Sawang Calero Police Station Tuesday.
Villarino was led to an area within the police station by two women who claimed they suffered abuses from the hands of the Sawang Calero personnel.
At least 12 personnel of the Sawang Calero Police Station, including its chief Police Major Eduard Sanchez, have been relieved from their posts due to the alleged abuses.
Excluding Sanchez, 11 personnel had been charged with various cases after they allegedly extorted money from the woman whom they picked up from her house in Minglanilla, Cebu for allegedly keeping illegal drugs. ....
