home tonight and that s an area that has the potential for severe storms later today and into the evening. that s why we have the first alert out for that. there is the potential for some severe storms with damaging winds and maybe even a tornado or reports of large hail in parts of the area. the relative severe threat is relatively low for the flooding, but pretty high for lightning and high winds and a good bit higher than normal for hail, for example. that highest risk is for much of delaware and southern new jersey. the farther north and west you go, the lower the risk of any kind of storms, let alone severe storms. you can see the lull now is just nothing on the radar, but the future weather computers are suggesting we do get some buildups. later this afternoon, after 2:00, 3:00 for the most part. some of them very heavy and generally farther south. there s one approaching the shore and then a few more later on this evening. but very little north and west of philadelphia
