Punch Newspapers Sections Kelvin Ekerete Rivers United coach, Stanley Eguma, says playing their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round second leg fixture against Bloemfontein Celtic in Cotonou, Benin Republic won’t affect his team. The fixture, which was earlier scheduled for January 6 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, will now hold on the weekend of January 22 to 24, according to Africa’s football ruling body, CAF, “at a neigbouring country to Nigeria.” Rivers had won the first leg of the tie 2-0 in Bloemfontein last December, but the reverse fixture was shifted after the South African side were unable to travel to Nigeria due to strict coronavirus restrictions in the country, which required that visitors from the United Kingdom and South Africa be quarantined for seven days upon arrival due to both countries being designated as “high-risk nations.” ....
