Eguma, Osho talk tough ahead Confed Cup clash

Enyimba coach Fatai Osho and his Rivers United counterpart Stanley Eguma are both optimistic of advancing to the group stage when both sides meet in the second leg of their preliminary stage tie of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday (today).
Enyimba won 1-0 in the first leg in Aba February 14.
Eguma said his players were poised for war against two-time African champions Enyimba today.
He said, “We are preparing very hard and we see this match as a war even though they are our brothers.
“I’m optimistic we will qualify for the next stage of the competition. ....

Eguma unfazed ahead of Rivers, Celtic clash in Cotonou

Rivers United coach, Stanley Eguma, says playing their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round second leg fixture against Bloemfontein Celtic in Cotonou, Benin Republic won’t affect his team.
The fixture, which was earlier scheduled for January 6 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, will now hold on the weekend of January 22 to 24, according to Africa’s football ruling body, CAF, “at a neigbouring country to Nigeria.”
Rivers had won the first leg of the tie 2-0 in Bloemfontein last December, but the reverse fixture was shifted after the South African side were unable to travel to Nigeria due to strict coronavirus restrictions in the country, which required that visitors from the United Kingdom and South Africa be quarantined for seven days upon arrival due to both countries being designated as “high-risk nations.” ....
