This includes protecting business privacy and the security of their data from any harmful uses of technology and combating deceptive advertising and illegal robo calls among other issues. The ftc is also responsible educating consumers about predatory Business Practices. It is intended to inform customer choices and help prevent americans from falling victim to scammers, fraud centers, cyber criminals and other bad actors. As was recently discussed at chairman marans subcommittee hearing the coronavirus has created an avenue for scammers to take advantage of consumers.
