Thieves Keep Stealing Motorcycles From Harley-Davidson Dealers

Another Harley-Davidson dealership got robbed over the Memorial Day weekend, this time in Tennessee. What originally looked like isolated incidents is turning into a problem as 12 dealerships have been hit by thieves with varying levels of success.

It was only March when a Harley-Davidson dealership in Kokomo, Indiana, experienced a Hollywood-style robbery of $100,000 worth of motorcycles. Now, as a report from Clarksville Now reveals, that dealership was only one in a line of 12 Harley dealerships to have been hit with robberies.
On May 29, Appleton Harley-Davidson became the latest dealership hit. But unlike the Kokomo robbery where the crew was prepared, these thieves did a comically bad job. They tried to make off with five motorcycles but only made off with three, leaving two stuck in a doorway, from Clarksville Now: ....

Legacy Harley Davidson Burglarized Overnight

Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- On Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at approximately 12:08 AM, Effingham Police Officers responded to an active burglar alarm at Legacy Harley Davidson, 1315 Althoff Drive. Upon arriving officers found forced entry through the front door of the business. Officers discovered that five (5) unknown subjects made entry, each subject selected a motorcycle of unknown value, started them, and drove off through the front door.
Effingham Police Department is working with the Illinois Secretary of State Police to see if any similar events have happened in this region.

Debate over proposed gas station continues

EFFIGHAM â If trucks regularly stop somewhere, does that make it a truckstop?
That question was raised by members of the public at an Effingham City Council meeting on Tuesday, which met to discuss the rezoning petition from QuikTrip, a chain of gas stations and convenience stores. It is proposing a location at Technology Drive and U.S. Route 45 next to the Interstate 57 exit north of Effingham.
Representatives of QuikTrip and several members of the public, all of whom had concerns about the proposed development, spoke to the council.
The City Council will vote on whether to rezone the property for the proposed location at its Jan. 5 meeting. QuikTrip is petitioning to change it from POM, planned office and limited industrial, to B-5, highway commercial district. This rezoning complies with the cityâs comprehensive plan. ....
