NEW YORK The Yankees badly needed for something, anything to go their way.
It finally did in the form of a bases-loaded wild pitch that let the go-ahead run to score in the eighth inning of a 3-1 win over the Braves at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.
The victory snapped a five-game losing streak that had fans apocalyptic and forced general manager Brian Cashman to address not just the Yankees’ historically bad start, but also the job security of manager Aaron Boone, who’s in the final year of this contract.
