Kaohsiung MRT defends station plan - Taipei Times

The Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Bureau yesterday responded to criticism that its design for its Cruise Terminal station on the city’s planned Yellow Line would inconvenience passengers connecting to a nearby light-rail station.
Lee Yu-chen (李雨蓁), the Taiwan Statebuilding Party’s Kaohsiung City councilor candidate for Fengshan District (鳳山), yesterday wrote on Facebook that the bureau had changed its plans for the Y15 MRT station on Sanduo Fifth Road, removing space for an underground tunnel to Kaohsiung Light Rail’s C9 station.

KMT suppressing youth vote: candidate

The Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) is suppressing young voters, Lin Ching-yi (林靜儀), the Democratic Progressive Party’s (DPP) candidate in the legislative by-election for Taichung’s second electoral district, told a news conference at Nantien Temple in the city’s Wufeng District (霧峰) yesterday, with others accusing the KMT of planning to disrupt bus services during the vote on Sunday.

Chen Po-wei rallies support to fight recall

Veterinarians yesterday rallied to support Taiwan Statebuilding Party Legislator Chen Po-wei (陳柏惟), who is fighting to beat a recall vote against him and calling for people to join a march through his Taichung constituency.
At an event for inoculating pet dogs in the city’s Wurih District (烏日), the Taichung City Veterinary Medical Association and Taiwan Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) urged residents to vote against recalling Chen on Saturday next week.
