Good morning, and welcome to way too early on this wednesday, april 19th. i m jonathan lemire. thanks for starting your day with us. we ll begin this morning in washington where florida governor ron desantis was courting republican lawmakers yesterday ahead of a likely presidential run in the nation s capitol the governor took a break from waging war on mickey mouse from what was billed as a meet and greet policy discussion. but despite the high profile appearance, the reaction from lawmakers afterwards was rather lukewarm with texas congressman dan crenshaw even telling the new york times i m staying out of it. desantis did pick up one endorsement, though, from freshman congresswoman laurel lee who he previously appointed as florida s secretary of state in 2018. she owed him one aside from lee chip roy of texas, and kentucky s thomas massey also endorsed the governor in recent weeks ....
