Doha: The Lean Construction Institute Qatar (LCI Qatar), in strategic partnership with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will hold the first virtual international conference on introducing Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) in the Middle East tomorow. Titled “Opportunity Calls: IPD in Qatar”, the virtual event is open to the public and will feature IPD principles and case studies from North America and Europe.
Factors hindering successful delivery of construction projects are many. One of the worst mysteries are the disconnect between design and construction, the gaps between design and operations, and the lack of coordination between planning and execution. Doha: The Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Qatar Chapter and Lean Construction Institute (LCI) Qatar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the cooperation for the welfare of society on January 11, 2021 at Hotel Radisson Blu.
The MOU signed ceremony was conducted in hybrid mode owing to the unusual circumstances and prevailing restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic.Dignitaries and office bearers joined in person at the venue, with over 100 members and engineers from Qatar, India, and other parts of the world joining in via zoom online.
Chairman of IEI Qatar Chapter, Eng Abdul Sathar welcomed the delegates with an inspiring address, calling upon all members of the engineering profession as well as the wider community to utilise their skills, knowledge, and efforts for the welfare of society and humankind. ....
