A YEAR ago, today Didcot s iconic skyline changed forever after the power station s chimney was demolished. The 655ft chimney came down at about 7.30am on February 9, 2020 and the explosion could be heard for miles around. Despite strong winds and an Abber weather warning, hundreds of people turned out at viewing points to watch.
