Chamber honors Ben Maibach with Leadership Wooster alumni award

WOOSTER If city leaders and residents were asked who in the area executes leadership and volunteerism really well, Ben Maibach would surely make the list.
The Wooster Brush Company president, a Wooster native who is now raising his own family in the city he loves, has a hand in several local organizations meant to strengthen the community.
In 2017, he graduated from Leadership Wooster, a year-long program that teaches about the area and educational and networking opportunities locally.
It s his genuine commitment in bettering Wooster Brush and the city that has led the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce to recognize Maibach with its annual Leadership Wooster Distinguished Alumni Award at its dinner and banquet Thursday, May 20. ....

Wooster chamber Samira Zimmerly receives national honor

WOOSTER The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives announced its 40 Under 40, which includes Wooster s own Samira Zimmerly.
Zimmerly stepped into the role as president of the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce in October as the first female to head the organization in its 118-year history. She has worked with the chamber for 10 years.
It’s very humbling, Zimmerly said of the recognition. 2020 has been an extremely challenging year, so it brought just a little bit of light into the year that we have had. It’s a reminder of why you do what you do.
Kevin Day, chair of the chamber s board of directors, nominated Zimmerly for the honor. ....
