Around 150,000 employees of Delhi’s local bodies – East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), North Delhi Municipal Corporation (North-DMC), and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) – have been protesting since 7 January over a non-payment of wages.
As sanitation workers have not been collecting garbage in parts of the Indian capital for the past 10 days, Delhi residents are now staring at a health and sanitation crisis.
