CANNABIS with a “potential street value of £90,000” has been discovered in an empty flat in the Borders, say police. Firefighters were called to a property in Beaconsfield Terrace, Hawick, at 1pm on Friday following reports of flooding. When a cannabis cultivation was found, police executed a Misuse of Drugs Warrant and recovered cannabis “with a potential street value of £90,000”, according to a police spokesperson. The spokesperson added that officers had to call out the electricity board as the supply at the flat had been “dangerously bypassed”.
