Sadiq Khan’s plan to expand the controversial ultra low emission zone (Ulez) across London looks set to go ahead next month after a legal challenge to halt the scheme failed in the High Court.
Sadiq Khan has faced growing backlash in recent months for his plans to expand the ULEZ in London, with the Mayor facing a High Court challenge over the plans.
The London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Harrow and Hillingdon as well as Surrey County Council are seeking to block the planned expansion claiming the Mayor exceeded his powers.
A high court hearing, taking place in July, will effectively decide whether Mr Khan acted legally or illegally in giving the go-ahead for the scheme s expansion.
