Global Agro Inc in partnership with the Liberia Agribusiness Development Activity (LADA), a Feed the Future program of the U.S government, has launched a farm mechanization program that worth more than US $ 140,000.00 in Todee District, Montserrado County. The program seeks to improve the productivity of Liberian smallholder farmers through farm support services, using various kinds of farm machines. Todee district is situated in rural Montserrado County. Many of the citizens in that part of the county are farmers who still do agriculture at subsistence level. LADA, a 5-year project that is about to phase out this year, has partnered with Global Agro Inc to improve the incomes of smallholder farmers under a cost share arrangement between the two entities. ....
Yreka Volunteer Fire Department welcomes two new firefighters Siskiyou Daily News The Yreka City Council unanimously welcomed two new firefighters to the Yreka Volunteer Fire Department at their meeting Thursday. Robert Goyeneche and Lawrence Morris are a welcome addition to the small volunteer department, said Fire Chief Jerry Lemos. Lemos said Goyeneche served the department for a number of years previously. He has substantial experience, including having been an assistant fire chief for the Yreka Volunteer Fire Department. “He s a great asset, and he’s a proven leader,” Lemos said. “We re glad to have him back.” Morris is also an experienced firefighter, Lemos said. He previously worked for the Gridley Fire Department. ....
