Retirement Ceremony Held for Long-Time LaVergne Police Officer

(La Vergne, Tenn.) On Thursday afternoon, the LaVergne Police Department held a special retirement celebration for one of their beloved officers. The retirement ceremony was at the La Vergne City Hall. But the officer who retired was not your typical badge and uniform wearing officer…It was a K9 officer named Mike, who joined the department in 2013 when he was about three years old.

Red Cross' "Battle of the Badges" Open To EVERYONE!

(RUTHERFORD COUNTY)  Each year the Heart of Tennessee's American Red Cross Chapter sponsors a BATTLE OF THE BADGES blood drive. Not only is this event open to firefighters, police and all first-responders, but to the PUBLIC as well.

La Vergne Parks and Recreation Grant Ceremony and More

Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) officials will hold a check presentation ceremony this Friday, Oct. 15th for a parks and recreation grant for La Vergne. Ceremonies will also be held on Friday for Goodlettsville and White House, Tennessee. The grants were announced in June. The grants are part of more than $7.5-million awarded to communities throughout the state from the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) program and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) . ....
